Deck resurfacing, or "re-decking", is where the existing deck frame is salvaged and new composite or wood decking is installed. Most of the time we are called for a deck remodel, the existing deck frame is in good shape in order to successfully complete the deck refinishing project.
Sometimes we do run into issues that are unforeseen on the initial estimate. In some cases we do have to replace joists or add flashing to the ledger board. In extreme cases where the deck may need major repairs, it may be best to do a complete demo and start from scratch.
NOTE: We do not stain, sand, seal, paint or prime decks!
